One might assume that a psychic is a psychic, and that’s that. Yet you may be
surprised at how many different types of psychics there are, and how their abilities
differ. For the purpose of this article, I’ll refer to these abilities as “gifts”. It’s unlikely for
any one psychic to possess all the gifts. However it is common for them to have more
than one gift. So it’s fair to say that most psychics are more like specialists rather than
general practitioners.
For this reason then it’s very important when looking for a psychic, to determine in
advance exactly what information you’re hoping to get out of the reading. Then you
need to find someone that specializes in providing the specific type of service you need.
To give a ridiculous example, you wouldn’t go to a pet psychic to make contact with a
deceased relative. You’d obviously need the services of a Medium/Channeler.
So to help you to determine which type of psychic you need, the rest of this article will
provide you with information on the different types and gifts available.
Channelers/Mediums
Psychics with this gift are able to let the spirit of a person who has died communicate
through them. This is not to be confused with “possession”. It’s just a temporary
arrangement where the psychic acts as a conduit to allow the deceased person to pass
information through them. These psychics are also very sensitive to the presence of
spirits in their surroundings — commonly referred to as ghosts.
Clairvoyants
The word Clairvoyant literally translates as “Clear-Vision”. These psychics are able to
see images which pertain to the information being sought. For this reason they are
frequently sought out to help solve missing person cases.
Precognitives
Pre means “before”, Cognition has to do with the mind, or “knowing”. Precognition
literally means “knowing before”. These types of psychics are able to know things
before they happen… like the 9/11 tragedy. This is one of the more complex gifts
because the psychic can’t always control what they’re going to see or when. It often just
happens.
Psychometrics
Webster’s dictionary defines Psychometry as “divination of facts concerning an object or
it’s owner through contact with or proximity to the object”. In other words, these
psychics can provide information about someone by being around or touching
something that belongs to the individual — also very helpful in finding missing persons.
Clairaudients
Similar to Clairvoyants, Clairaudient literally means “Clear-Hearing”. These psychics
can actually “hear” things not perceived by people around them, and which are not
limited to space and time. In addition to being of great value in helping to solve missing
person cases, this psychic gift allows them to hear information being passed on to the
client from the clients’ spirit guides.
Clairsentients
Again the “Clair” means clear, and “Sentient” means to sense or feel. This type of
psychic receives their information in the form of a Clear-Sense or Clear-Feeling. This is
a first cousin of Psychometry as it pertains to feeling. These people can often sense the
emotions of those around them quite clearly.
Empathics
Coming from the root word Empathy – which means to “feel with”, this also relates to
Psychometry and Clairsentience. These psychics are excellent at picking up on
peoples’ emotions. They can be very helpful to people dealing with a highly emotional
issue.
Animal Telepaths
Also commonly known as “pet psychics”, these people can communicate on a mental
level with animals. They can be extremely helpful with pet behavior problems and
locating lost pets.
So as you can see there are many types of psychic gifts. Finding the right psychic to
address your particular need is vitally important in assuring a successful reading.

Supeiorr thinking demonstrated above. Thanks!
You’ve hit the ball out the park! Icneribdle!
What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
I have bookmarked, Dugg, and I joined the RSS subscription. Thanks! ….
